Aloha to all my Blog readers:

I will never give up promoting my book, Polynesian Dreams, but I have been sick, very sick in fact with Guillain Barre Syndrome. This rare disease left me practically paralyzed for 5 weeks in the hospital. I was so helpless that I needed to be spoon fed, turned over every two hours and all my bodily functions stopped. Miraculous my muscles slowly started to respond once I was in rehab and after 4 weeks in Air Force Village West skilled nursing, I could walk behind a walker. After I was discharged it only took weeks before I could park my walker and I am not using a cane, more as a security blanket than anything else.
Okay, I am getting well and will once more promote my inspirational epic memoir, as it is described on most of the electronic booksellers, in blogs, FaceBook etc. Go to my web site, http://www.booktofightaddiction.com for details on how to order my $3.79, 351 page book that give hope to everyone who has their lives controlled by alcohol, drugs, sex, food, smoking or any other number of addictions. My meager proceeds are being donated to an animal shelter and adoption agency.
I learned about the power of prayer as an eight year old boy in Holland, my native country. I forgot about it for over 75 years until I was in the hospital unable to move a single limb or function. I remembered my Sunday school lessons and put my hands together. Was it the excellent physical therapists who worked with me or the Higher Power that rules over all of us? At rehab they labeled me the Miracle Man. Never had they worked with somebody with Guillain Barre Syndrome who recovered so quickly. Yes, 85% of patients recover but it often takes years.  I did it in 4 weeks, go figure. I am still not 100% but I walk, drive my car and am living with my wife, Bettie and my feline companion, Mieshe in an assisted living facility, Brookdale Cherry Hills, in Sun City. This is almost like living on a cruise ship without going anywhere or without getting sea sick.  More about this 1 in 100,000 dreadful illness in later blogs. Until then, read a sample chapter on Kindle, Nook, Kobo or any other electronic book seller site. Polynesian Dreams by Johan Van Oldenbarneveld. You might like it enough to invest $3,79 and help find a home for a deserving animal.

Aloha Blog Readers:

I use the Hawaiian greeting, "Aloha" because we lived in that beautiful state a long time and because I like the meaning. It is Hello, Goodbye, the check is in the mail, see you later, all of that.
I am not going to advertise my book in this blog. It is almost impossible with over 2 million titles available as an Ebook, I am almost to the point of giving up. I want to write about politics. I have always been a political junkie. I grew up in war time Holland, followed the Allied armies on a chart in my bedroom. Young as I was, I knew that the speeches by Nazi's were a bunch of B.S. and watching the German propaganda newsreels I knew they were works of fiction.
Now we have Bagdad Bob in the form of the spokes hole of Obama, using the same flim-flam and politicians running for the highest office also working their B.S. in interviews with the talking heads of the different stations. Who to vote for? I am going to take the chance of being called a nut or worse and declaring that if the election was held today, The Donald would get my vote. Sure he flip flopped on issues but so has everyone else. He has the best chance to beat the democrat, whoever that may be. Nothing, in my mind, could be worse that a president Hillary, or heaven forbid, Sanders or yes, perhaps good old Uncle Joe, I disrespectful refer to as the village idiot. We had 7 years of the Rocky Horror show in the form of Hussein, we tried with a Dole, a McPain, a Romney, it did not work. Let's be bold and go with a guy who is not a politician, who uses his own dollars and who is a member of Mensa, not only a member but a Triple Niner, the highest scorer in this elite group. Okay, I am losing some friends with this blog, but this is why I love this adopted country, we can agree to disagree. I disagree with the National Republic, they have backed a loser in the last elections. I go with the folks in the fly over country. Donald Trump could never be as bad as the other candidates who are in the low single digits. Johan, US Army veteran, (51-53) born in Holland but in love with my adopted country, the Great US of A, warts and all.

Dear Blog Friends:

Politics today. Last night was the Democratic debate. To be honest, I am not a democrat but I listened, trying to keep my bias in check.
Bernie Sanders, the Socialist/Democrat proposed a minimum wage of $15.00 per hour. This would have many unintended consequences.  It would be disastrous for the unskilled workers in the fast food industry. Teenagers, wanting to work on their vacation would be out of luck. I reside in an assisted living facility, $15.00 per hour for the many unskilled workers employed here or elsewhere in a similar facility would cause our rent to skyrocket.  Instead of raising the minimum wage, it should be lowered. I thought the debate to be dull, and a lot of promises that would cost the tax payer a lot of money. Free this, free that, Free enterprise, less regulations those are the job creators.
Read my book, Polynesian Dreams by Johan Van Oldenbarneveld, available electronically on all the electronic book seller sites.
$3.97 with proceeds going to an Animal Rescue Center. Help make my book an inspirational best seller.
Thank you in advance. Johan

Hallo Blog Friends:

You will never know how much I hate to do this but I have a problem. I have my book on sale on most of the ebook sellers such as Kindle, Nook, Kobo, ebooks, and more but I am competing with approximately 2 million other titles.
Polynesian Dreams by Johan Van Oldenbarneveld is described by the sellers as an epic memoir. Yes, it is epic, 351 pages with photos but it is not selling as well as it should. People who did read it on their tablet or computer liked it and called it a page turner. It only cost $3.79 and to top it off, my share, about $2.00 is donated to The Animal Friends of the Valley, an adoption and rescue center.
So I am doing something I hate, please buy a copy and you not only will get a most interesting and thought provoking book, but you also help a deserving animal find a new and loving home.

visit my web site: www.booktofightaddiction.com
At least read a few sample chapters for free at the book sellers.
Thank you in advance.
