Hi Blog Readers:
I like to talk to people, complete strangers often. I also read stories in the papers about people and their problems. I listen and hear about their lives and how they struggle with addictions, bad habits, finances and a host of others. I like to grab them by the shoulders and tell them to stop blaming others whatever they subscribe their situation to. In my book I have tried to do just that. Polynesian Dreams tells the story of my own life. My life that started a long time ago in my native Holland. I was born May 8, 1930, and am now 84 years with lots of experience. I too at one time ruined my life with alcohol, drugs and bad behavior. Until one day I woke up from my self induced stupor and saw the light. On the brink of completely destroying my health, financial ruin, and morally bankrupt, I went back to where it all went wrong and realized that it was ME, Me and ME alone that would have to change. I did with the result that eventually I became healthy, I stopped abusing my love ones and my financial situation became stable again. How I did it, and who helped me is the story contained in the 351 pages of Polynesian Dreams, now for sale on all the electronic book sellers; Kindle, Nook, Kobo, WaveCloud, Ebooks, Google books and more. Price: $3.79 and folks because I do not want it to appear that I want to profit from it I am donating my net proceeds to an Animal Shelter and to The Wounded Warrior project. I am asking you to go to any of the book sellers and read a few sample chapters for free. If you think you like to continue, for the price of a hamburger you get hours of page-turning reading and if you have a bad habit (and who has not) that you like to get rid of, Polynesian Dreams might help you. Adventure, World Travel, Romance, Tragedy and Triumph, that is what Polynesian Dreams if about. It took 5 years to write, and now I must asking folks to buy it. Please help me and yourself by giving it a look. Thanks, Johan
A special thanks to the folks at WaveCloud for doing such outstanding job in preparing my manuscript and putting it on all the exchanges. J/

My Dear Blog Followers:
Have been unable to blog because my dear wife had a bad fall and broke her right femur and her right ulna and radial. She had a partial hip replacement and is now in a rehab center, Air Force Village West, skilled nursing, Room 17B. She is getting therapy twice a day and I am hopeful that I can take her home, with in home therapy in two to three weeks. Fortunately the facility is tops, care, food, therapy but it is still an uphill battle.
Still I want to take time this morning to tell you about my book Polynesian Dreams, on all the internet book stores in electronic format. The price is $3.79 with my net going to charity.
Why to charity, this book is inspirational, yes it is the story of my life, starting with the war years in Europe, my service in the Dutch Navy, Dutch Merchant Marines, American Army as a MP and Criminal Investigator, there is travel, romance, a bit of Tibetan East Indian religion. I was asked to write this book by an unlikely source. If you have something in your life you would like to get rid of, addiction, habit, bad behavior, trouble and strife, you could benefit from my experience. That is the purpose of the 351 page biography. I have been told many times that this is a real page-turner. Try a few sample chapters on any of the electronic book sellers for gratis, free, no money, and if you like my style, my prose, invest the price of a hamburger, $3.79 for hours upon hours of reading and yes, perhaps you will derive benefit from Polynesian Dreams.
Go to Kindle,Nook, Kobo, Wave Cloud, Ebooks, Google Books, and more and read a chapter. Thanks for your attention. Johan
The photo is from a long time ago when I sailed through the Straights of Dover, my ship passed the White Cliffs of Dover, and yes they are white. j.

Aloha, Blog followers:
After viewing a seminar about how to sell your E-books, I decided to lower the price. The seminar taught me that for an E-book I had priced my book to high. I am most interested to have my book become widely read, (which author isn't) and since I am donating my net proceeds to charity, the price did not matter, volume however did. Now for a measly price of $3.79 you can buy yourself hours of reading pleasure on your reading device, laptop, tablet or whatever your choice.
I have started writing a new book, the working title is 3014 and it is in the Sci-Fi genre. George Orwell and of course Jules Verne were some the earliest science fictions authors. They spawned a entire not only new genre but many movies, Starwars one of the most successful one. Also the television series Star Trek, had its origin Jules Verne's tales of the future.
I am a great fan of Sci-Fi, you find some of it in Polynesian Dreams, but in 3014 I tried to imagine how the world will look a hundred years from now. I am going to try to use technology that in 2014 we know about but have not yet been able to employ. Political situation is something one can only speculate, writing about the future is difficult and even writers such as Jules Verne got it wrong.
I will keep you posted on the progress. I am posting my opening paragraph below. Again, my Polynesian Dreams is now available on all the E-book exchanges and as a big favor I am asking you to at least read a few sample chapters, absolutely gratis. Thanks in advance, Johan
My name is Wayne
Bates and I was born in 2080, in San Jose, California. I graduated from PolyTech in San Luis Obispo, in 3006. Currently I
am employed by the Siemens Company at their research and factory facility
on Mars. I have almost fulfilled my two year contract and I have been
given two options. Return to earth and probably terminate my employment with Siemens or sign a contract to work on their space station, Deutchland 1, located in deep
space. I have to choose between the
two within a month. I will take this
time to write my story and perhaps this will affect my ultimate decision.

Dear Blog Followers:
What more can I do? Lowered the price of my book because my price was too high for an e-book publication. Now it is $3.79, you cannot even buy a decent hamburger for that. Yet, for that price you get hours upon hours of reading material. Adventure, Romance, Inspiration, a bit of World Travel and for good measure a bit of East Indian/Tibet Religion thrown in. I have been told many times that Polynesian Dreams was a page turner. You be the judge. Go to any of the E-Book sites and read a sample chapter. If you like it, shell out the measly sum of $3.79, with my net portion going to charity. I hope you do just that and I also hope that when you finished reading you give a short review, good, bad, just be honest. Love you all for giving this your attention. Aloha, Dear Blog Followers:
I have attached a short video in which I am reading a part of a chapter of my book, Polynesian Dreams. I attended a seminar yesterday on how to best market and sell your electronic book and I realized that I had my book too ambitiously priced. I asked my publisher, WaveCloud.com to lower the price as soon as possible. My proceeds are donated to charities and if my sales increase it is a win=win situation. My desire is for as many folks as possible to read Polynesian Dreams, and some, hopefully learn from my experiences to combat their bad habits or addictions.
My book is listed in the biography genre but it could just as easily be in Adventure, Romance, Meta Physical because it is all of that.
Please listen to me read part of a chaper, you can find that also on my web site, polynesiandreams.com. Contact me if you like via email, pokerbydutch@verizon.net
I am a native of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, an US Army Veteran, and have lived in Hawaii and California for more years than I care to admit. Thanks in advance for giving this your attention

To my faithful Blog Readers, Monday, 8/4/14
I need help. I have never been afraid to ask for help if I needed it. Help with building a fence around my yard in a new house, help with fixing my car's problems, help in getting rid of some addictions and bad habits.
Now I need help with marketing my book, Polynesian Dreams, I am open to all suggestions. Do not ask me to stand with a sign on the street, "Buy My Book", no but some of you might have good suggestions. Polynesian Dreams is according to the feedback a real page turner and it should sell in numbers. Ir is not. Is it the price? I think $8.50 is well worth it, specially if my portion is donated to charity. At the age of 84, I have enough finances to last me for the rest of my years. I wrote the book with the idea that others could benefit, all the time keeping it mostly interesting because my life has been interesting. War in Europe, Dutch Royal Navy, Dutch merchat marine, American Army, MP and Criminal investigator, member of an Ice show in Germany, alcohol and drug addiction, perhaps sex addiction as well, but certainly reckless behavior in that aspect of my life. Throw in some Eastern religion thoughts, and you have a tasty stew. It will keep you wanting to go to the next chapter while by the pool, by the lake, in the forest or in bed at home with your electronic reading device. Now on Kindle, Nook, WaveCloud, Google Book, Ebook and more. Go to www,polynesiandreams.com and read about me, read a few free sample chapters and help me with your ideas how best to get folks interested in Polynesian Dreams. I am biased but it is a great book, 5 years of labor, tears and sweat went into writing it. I put myself out there, warts and all. Thanks guys, Love, Johan

Hallo, dear Blog followers:
Some time ago my book, Polynesian dreams was reviewed by a professional reviewer. Following is what she wrote about my book:
Review
By
Ruby Lee Schneider
This story follows the growth of the main character,
Johan, from a fourteen-year old starving boy in occupied Holland to an affluent
person in Hawaii.
Along the way Johan makes one poor decision after
another before finding the right path. The growth of Johan is shown by his
spirit helper leading Johan to see the poor choices that were not part of the
infinite, but beautiful plan for his life.
However, each of these scenes makes for fascinating
reading, sometimes spicy at other times poignant.
This is a thought provoking book. It is a difficult
novel to categorize but could be an inspirational adventure or rite of passage.
The writer has incorporated travelogue bits in between
an Indian/Tibetan form of inspirational guidance with a theological/political
treatise to create and adventure well worth reading.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog. This review gives you a glimpse in what my book is about. It is now available on all ebook sites. Thanks you in advance for reading a few sample chapters. Johan Van Oldenbarneveld, painter with words.

Ahoy, put that ship telgraph on stop and take time to read my blog:
I love to look at paintings. In my native Holland we have many museums, one in Amsterdam completely devoted to Vincen van Gogh. I went to a high school, the Vincent van Gogh school. Yes, old Vincent is big in Holland, during his life he almost starved to death from hunger. You all heard about Rembrand and his famous painting, The Night Watch, a print hangs on my office wall. My wife and I also had a few occasions to visit the famous Louvre in Paris and that is truly a feast for the eyes. I had an uncle who was a well known painter and I wished I had inherited his talent, but alas, not so. I did have a flair for painting pictures with word and this brings me to my latest masterpiece, Polynesian Dreams. Try a sample chapter and see if you agree. You can visit any of the e-book sellers and click on the sample chapters and do so gratis.
WaveCloud, the company I picked out of many to format my manuscript and place it in the most important exchanges did a great job. I have a new cover and people who have read my book have given it good reviews. Talking about reviews, these are of great importance to the writer. If you read Polynesian Dreams, I would so much like you to write a short review, good or bad, as long as you are honest. Thanking you again for giving this your attention, Johan Van Oldenbarneveld.
