Aloha, Blog followers:
After viewing a seminar about how to sell your E-books, I decided to lower the price. The seminar taught me that for an E-book I had priced my book to high. I am most interested to have my book become widely read, (which author isn't) and since I am donating my net proceeds to charity, the price did not matter, volume however did. Now for a measly price of $3.79 you can buy yourself hours of reading pleasure on your reading device, laptop, tablet or whatever your choice.
I have started writing a new book, the working title is 3014 and it is in the Sci-Fi genre. George Orwell and of course Jules Verne were some the earliest science fictions authors. They spawned a entire not only new genre but many movies, Starwars one of the most successful one. Also the television series Star Trek, had its origin Jules Verne's tales of the future.
I am a great fan of Sci-Fi, you find some of it in Polynesian Dreams, but in 3014 I tried to imagine how the world will look a hundred years from now. I am going to try to use technology that in 2014 we know about but have not yet been able to employ. Political situation is something one can only speculate, writing about the future is difficult and even writers such as Jules Verne got it wrong.
I will keep you posted on the progress. I am posting my opening paragraph below. Again, my Polynesian Dreams is now available on all the E-book exchanges and as a big favor I am asking you to at least read a few sample chapters, absolutely gratis. Thanks in advance, Johan
My name is Wayne
Bates and I was born in 2080, in San Jose, California. I graduated from PolyTech in San Luis Obispo, in 3006. Currently I
am employed by the Siemens Company at their research and factory facility
on Mars. I have almost fulfilled my two year contract and I have been
given two options. Return to earth and probably terminate my employment with Siemens or sign a contract to work on their space station, Deutchland 1, located in deep
space. I have to choose between the
two within a month. I will take this
time to write my story and perhaps this will affect my ultimate decision.
The photo is from the time I lived in Honolulu and was on the Honolulu City council representing the residents of Waikiki. Mayor Harris congratulates me after I was sworn in.
