Hallo, boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen, bookworms, writers and wannabe writers all:
One of my favorite writers is Jack London. I often visited his house when I lived in the Bay Area, and the ruins of the Wolf House, that burned to the ground halfway during construction. This broke his heart and he committed suicide before he was 50. His politics aside, he was a socialist, I am not, he was a great writer, covered the China-Russian war as war correspondence and sailed the seas in his boat, The Snark, spending lots of time in Hawaii. His second wife, Charmian, was as adventurous as Jack. In his autobiography, Sailor on Horseback, he writes about his habit of getting up early in the morning, each and every day, and put in a couple of hours writing. This inspired me to do the same thing, and it is rise and shine each day at 5:00 am, brew a quick cup of coffee on my Keurig and sit behind my computer to try to get the muse working. Sometimes it goes great, sometimes not so much.
Anyway, everybody must suit him or herself when to write. The main thing is, write, write.
Remember the blog from yesterday, Never, but never ring that bell.
Good wishes and success to you. It is no shame to fail now and then. Frank Sinatra sang a song, Get up, brush yourself off and start all over again. Love, Johan Van Oldenbarneveld, Polynesian Dreams, autobiography and more, published on Kindle, Nook, Kobo, WaveCloud and more, $8.50 with my proceeds going to a worthy cause. Below, 63 years ago.

Hallo, Friends and Writers:
I found a video  that I must pass on to you. It is the commencement address by Admiral Mcraven, delivered at the University of Texas a few days ago.
Mcraven was trained as a Navy seal and much of his address has to do with his training as a seal near San Diego, years ago.
What does Navy Seal training has to do with writing? Plenty. No we do not have to swim, crawl through mud, go on endless marches, suffer abuse and are constantly berated by the professional trainer.
I am going to tell you what this Navy seal training has to do with writing, in one word, perseverance.
Mcraven's class started with 150 men, just 42 made it to graduation.
In the middle of the parade ground was bell with a rope. Anytime a trainee decided he had enough of the cold, the sleepless marches, the abuse, the sheer fatigue, he could ring that bell and his training was over, Just like that, go back to your unit.
I compare this to writing, how many writers start and think they have written a decent article or book, plenty. How many ring that bell because they do not seem to get anywhere. Plenty!
I will never ring that bell. I keep blogging, writing in FaceBook, Tweet, hand my cards to everybody, tell all my friends about Polynesian Dreams. Tell them to buy it on Kindle, Nook, Kobo, WaveCloud, Goggle or write me and I give it away gratis, but I will not wring that bell.

Listen to this admiral's speech and receive courage from it. Never give up on your ideal. Your friend and fellow writer, a word-put-together lover. Johan Van Oldenbarneveld, writer of a pretty inspiring
autobiography,  Johan Van Oldenbarneveld.

Hallo Asspirant Writers and One and All:
The age of Electronic books is upon us and in my humble opinion will only grow and grow. Kids grow up with a baby rattle in one hand and a computer tablet in the other. When they grow up they will not know better and the print media will have shrunk much. Coffee table, Art and special editions will still be printed but most publication, including newspapers will be electronically produced. Although I live in California, I subscribe to the New York Post, it is the first thing I read on my I-Pad first thing in the morning. Even authors like Bill O'Reilly's books are available in E-Book format. Okay, you managed to have your book available on most E-book sites, Kindle, Nook Kobo, WaveCloud and more. Now what do you do? You do not think that people will flock to buy your book, just by reading the description (important as that is) or look at the title page and are so impressed that they immediately purchase your masterpiece? No, dear hearts and gentle people, it YOU, who must promote, make people aware of its availability, and how do you do this?
I wished I had all the answers but I don't know and I am open for suggestions. This is what I did so far. I printed business cards to hand out to anybody I met, even the waitress who served me my Alpo and eggs, just anyone who I thought might be remotely interested. I am writing this daily blog, will it help? I write on FaceBook and I tweet. I am almost resorting to hiring somebody to stay on the corner waving a sign, Buy Polynesian Dreams, A great book. I found out that those folks make $10.00 per hours, so that is out. I must wave my sign electronically. If you have an bright ideal how to advertise a book, I would be thankful if you let me know about it. As always, with admiration and respect to all my fellow writers (not authors, that is pretentious) from your fellow putting-words-together, Johan

Aloha from Southern California:
In my book, Polynesian Dreams, are parts that deal with reincarnation. Do I believe in reincarnation? My answer is that I keep an open mind. I do know there are more people in the world that believe in reincarnation then there are who do not believe. Buddhist, for instance, certainly believe in reincarnation. Now back to this blog. I receive very few comments and it is disheartening but I am a firm believer that if at first you don't succeed you must try and try again. There are a myriad of stories about writers, (Margaret Mitchell for one, before Gone with the Wind) who have a piles of rejection slips. I am attaching a photo from 57 years ago. I am posed reading "Writer" magazine. This is to show that even 57 years ago I was an aspiring word-put-together young man. Actually, I started writing when I was not even a teenager. I had a modicum of success, not in fiction but in magazine and newspapers. In the army, while stationed in Europe, I wrote travel in Europe pieces for the Stars and Stripes. I had articles accepted in glossy magazines such as CAMERA and once in PlayBoy. I had one book published, not fiction but titled, How to Play Texas Hold'em on the Internet and Win. Polynesian Dreams is considered an autobiography. I am now writing my first SciFi book, working title, 2099. It tries to describe the future, mostly about Robotic and Computer use as it might be in 2099. I also try to envision the world political situation as it might be in 2099. Writing about the future has been done often and even famous writers such as Jules Verne and H.G. Wells, often miscalculated the events by many years. Anyway, I always try to include a plug for the folks at WaveCloud.com who transformed my Polynesian Manuscript from Word or PDF format in Mobi and Epub and who put it on all exchanges. Go to any E-bookstore, such as Kindle, Nook, WaveCoud, Google Book and others and read a few sample chapters. Like it, buy it, do not like it, buy it anyway, just to help the charities. Do not have $8.50, email me and I send it to you for free. You find my email address at www.polynesiandreams.com
Good luck, writers, book lovers everywhere. Thank you Justin and Emily for your work on my book.
Check out the rotary phone. Johan Van Oldenbarneveld

Here we go again, another blatant blog to try you to pay attention to my book, Polynesian Dreams, again courtesy of WaveCloud, Justin and Emily, available in all e-book stores for $8.50, proceeds to an animal shelter and the Wounded Warriors.

I do have a bit of a treat for you today, nothing to do with Polynesian Dreams.

On Britain's got talent, they had this incredible illusionist contestant.

Click on the link below what this guy did, tell me how he did it and I send you a free copy of my book. I am not worried because nobody can figure it out.

http://www.flixxy.com/darcy-oakes-jaw-dropping-dove-illusions-britains-got-talent-2014.htm

Now once again I go on bended knee and ask you to visit Kindle, Nook, Kobo, WaveCloud, Google Book or other and read a few sample chapters of my book, gratis.

You might actually by accident like it enough to fork over the $8,50 and buy it so you can read the entire 351 pages on your tablet or computer.

Memorial Day, 2014 with a grateful acknowledgement for your service to all veterans and remembrance to those who were wounded in combat or gave the ultimate price for their heroism. Johan Van Oldenbarneveld, who enjoys putting words together.

Friday, May 23, 2014

What or who is a writer? I often wondered about that question. I, for instance, have been stringing words together since before I was a teenager. I am not alone, many folks do this, why? I do not know the answer. I have had a small measure of success and had articles published in glossy magazines, newspapers, even the Stars and Stripes when I was in the Army and aboard a troopship to Germany, I wrote for the daily ship's news bulletins. I do not like the word "Author" it is  pretentious in my case. I have written three books, Guerrilla Gambler, out of print because gambling in casinos changed, How to play Texas Hold'em on the Internet and Win, still selling now and then but since this is no longer legal, sales dwindled, and a 351 page book, Polynesian Dreams, first published by Pulsar books, this company went broke, then via the Riverside County Library system on their Flash Books, print on demand Espresso machine, it sold out. Now I have my book for sale on all E-book seller sites, Kindle, Nook, WaveCloud, Google Book, Kobo, E-books. The folks at WaveCloud made this possible and I cannot thank them enough. Am I selling, this is another question that time will tell. You have to constantly promote your book, do not give up.
If you thinking that writing a book will guaranty you a nice income, I say, stop, it probably will not happen.
Sure there are exceptions, Gustave Flaubert, the author of Madame Bovary, was a poor struggling author with not even enough francs to buy ink or fresh quill pens. He became a best seller and became wealthy, J.K. Rowling was on welfare in the UK and penned her first Harry Potter book in a coffee shop, what happen to her is a legend and perhaps it will happen again someday but you have better odds buying a California lottery ticket, and those odds are not good. Never give up however, if writing gives you pleasure, like it has always given me, write your heart out. You are so fortunate to have word processing. Those a bit older remember White Out, and sending your neatly typed final version to the post office, SASE included. Now the internet has changed all this, E-books are definitely the future. I still like to hold a book in my hands, smell the paper and ink, turn the pages, but I am from an older generation. That I have my book published in E format is because even at my ripe old age I went with the times. Youngster, who have grown up from Kindergarten with computers will probalby never have the luxury of reading a printed on paper book. I read on my I-pad and it is great at night, I change the background to black, white font and turn the pages with a touch of my finger. If I do not understand a word, no problem, a built in thesaurus is available at a touch of my finger.
Like my blog, let me know? It is great to know somebody read your words.Go to one of the E-book sites and read a few sample chapters, If you like it, buy it. My proceeds are donated to a worthy cause. I am not telling you what my book, Polysensian Dreams is about. This you have to find out for yourself. I love writing these blogs, keep on writing budding writers. Need help, let me know, I might be able to. I need help promoting my book, do you have any ideas? Love you all, Johan

Short blog today:
Aloha friends and relations:
Busy day, must however invite you to read my blogs. Writing is such a lonesome job. Sit behind your computer and try to figure out how you can get folks to read your blog plus, of course, to buy your book. Polynesian Dreams took over 5 years to write and is a story of my life, told in a whimsical way. I am however serious on wanting to sell my book and have managed to make it available on all the ebook stores, Kindle, Nook, WaveCloud, Koba, Google Books and more.
Again, I am donating my net proceeds which is about half of the selling price of $8.50 to deserving charities. Also, if you are not able to afford the cost of the book, email me and I will download the book in PDF and Word format free of charge. Why, because this books I believe will help folks who have an addiction to get rid of it. Go to any of the ebook sites and read the sample of a few chapters, if you like it, buy it, if you do not like it, buy it anyway. (lol)
Friendly greetings from Johan Van Oldenbarneveld.

I like to blog today about the word: "IDEA". Sit back relax and think about that word. I believe that most things on this planet started with an idea. Some ideas were terrific and a boon to mankind, some not so swell. Without going through a list of everything that started with an idea, like the airplane, the automobile, electricity, etc., I like to concentrate on the device I am using to write this, the computer.
Actually the computer idea started in prehistoric times but forget this for now. I like to think about the idea from the Eniac time forward. I learned in school, in Berkeley, machine code, the language that almost every computer understands, it uses binary code, a series of either zeroes or ones. If you had a box on your bedside table with 8 switches, you could actually control 64 functions in your house. This is the 8 bit chip, many modern computers started with, every setting in the switch was a "byte".
Here is the basic binary code for Numbers 1-9. Imagine if we were born with just 2 fingers instead of 10, we might have a binary system instead of a decimal. 0 in binary =0, 1=1, 10=2, the first 1 would be the the same as 10 in our decimal system, 11=3, 2+1, 110=4, 111=5,1110=6, 1111=8, in other words, 2 raised to the 4th power. Are you getting a headache. It becomes more complicate with 16 bit chips, let alone 32 bits and 64 bits. ROM, or read only memory is the code your programs are written in, RAM or random access memory is accessible, you can change add or detract numbers and with the ASCII code you can use words. Think of RAM as a giant letter box in a giant post office, each little cubbyhole has an address. Binary code, by the way, was use in China in BC, think Abacus. In binary, 0=off, 1=on, depending how the settings of the switches, the computer execute a command. Unlike my kids when they were small, or for that matter my wife, then and now, they do not always follow instructions. No problem with the computer, it does immediately what you want it to do. I type these letters and they are stored in this blog. Somebody first had to have the idea of computer then others elaborated on it and voila, we are in 2014. What it will be in 2020, I can only fantasize. Now back to my book, it is written in machine language, 1's and 0's and you can read it without giving this a iota of thought. Just go to Kindle, Nook, Kobo, WaveCloud, Google Book and type in Polynesian Dreams, and you can read it on your desktop, laptop, tablet, smart phone everywhere you are connected to WiFi. Neat, you bet. I have bored you long enough, just musing today about the word, IDEA. I had an idea to write another book, that idea came first. Next, okay, Johan, neat idea but what is the book about, another idea, and another, and the book came about. Now I am looking for ideas on how to sell my book. I would like help with that. I have no clue on the number of books in the world, but it is a bunch. How do I get folks to read the book I have written. HELP!
I love the computer age, with all its warts and think we have only scratched the surface, just a little scratch. You can help my charities by buying my book, you might help yourself or somebody with an upside down life by reading Polynesian Dreams, You can do nothing and miss out on an opportunity, at least that is what I think. Happy reading and expanding your mind. Good idea, I think. Johan Below, I am young and filled with ideas, mostly about girls.

Aloha:
I would love to blog about something else then my book, Polynesian Dreams but this is difficult because I am so committed to it. Why, you asked, is that? Don't you donate the proceeds so it cannot be about making money? What is so important to you that you want people to read your book?

I will tell you about why! My book, beside writing about seeing WWII in Holland through the eyes of a scared and bewildered 10 year old, his world travels in the Dutch Navy and Merchant Marine, his coming to America his US Army service in Germany as an MP and a CID agent, deal with addiction. There are the most talked about addictions like drugs and alcohol but there are many others, sex and food for instance. Polynesian Dreams was written with the intention of helping people get rid of addictive behavior. In the book I am led by my personal spirit guide. Far out! No, because I am not special, everybody has a spirit guide, that manifests itself in many ways but it is there. You could use the word inner voice instead spirit guide. This inner voice was always there, even when you were still very young. However, you have to learn to listen to it. When you do things begin to happen, if you ignore the voice inside of you beware it can have consequences you come to regret. The world is filled with people who choose to not to listen to the inner voice, or were not aware that there it was there to guide them through their life. If you finish reading Polynesian Dreams you will be aware of its existence, will you choose to listen? That is a voluntary choice. You will also learn why I choose not to profit from this book. I have written others for profit but not Polynesian Dreams. If you are unable to afford the $8.50 price, email me and I gladly send it to you in an E-Mail using the free We Transfer program. Again, my net proceeds are going to Animal Friends of the Valley and Wounded Warrior Project. I must put in a plug for the folks that helped me, Justin and Emily at www.wavecloud.com. You may email me anytime for more info: pokerbydutch@verizon.net
I am not going to describe the whole book, you have to read it to find out about my life and my addiction(s) and how I fought the demons not only to health and happiness but to financial success. Believe me, I am not a special person, I do not posses special talents, except perhaps   that learned to express myself best in writing but I have advice how to do this also, it is called "reading".
Love to all of you from this Dutchman and happy reading. Johan
Below, Mieshe, adopted five years ago from the Friend of the Animals rescue shelter. Cats can see better, hear better and are able to smell better, if they could talk and had hands instead of claws they probably could be the ones who ruled the world instead of humans, probably would do a better job. j.

Aloha again from this former resident of our beautiful state of Hawaii, Johan Van Oldenbarneveld.
Today I like to blog about the digital age we have entered. I am of the belief that we have just scratched the surface of what life in the digital age is going to be like in the future.
I am writing about it because one of my book has just been published on all the Electronic Book Sites, Kindle, Nook, Kobo, WaveCloud, Google Books, and others lesser known. Is this a good thing? Yes, it is but it also might have unexpected consequences. Do we really want everything we read in digital form? I leave that unanswered, this generation will still love to hold a book in their hand, but what about the future generations. Will they feel the same? I certainly do not know the answer. The Holy Bible can now be read on your tablet in any version you prefer.  Classics are added every day, the public library in my small city now has an option to read books in their data base electronically.
I do know one thing, for many aspiring authors who never had much of a chance to see their epic novel, biography or do it yourself book in print, E books are the future and a gift from the computer age.
My book, Polynesian Dreams had a modest success in printed form but when people in my native country of The Netherlands ordered a copy, the postage made this expensive. My E-book version can be read anywhere in the whole world. Fantastic and it is so easy, on a long trip, grab your I-pad, your Kindle or Nook, your laptop and start reading. Font too small, no problem, a stroke of a a key and take your pick, like sepia colored background, click, at night you want black background, white font, click again. Wherever you are a extensive library is at your beck and call. I hope, of course, that you include my book in your choice. As a tip to budding authors, getting your book on the exchanges is much simpler than you think. You be able to find many companies to convert your book in an E-book format, be it mobi or epub, and they will also put it on the many exchanges. I shopped around and recommend: www.wavecloud.com they did all that was needed quickly, inexpensively and their hand holding was awesome. I am using too many words again but I am so enthusiastic about this business of E-publishing and selling my book. Enjoy my blog, I hope. Johan

Patience is a virtue, so I have been told. I must be virtuous because I patiently am waiting for my book, Polynesian Dreams, now available in all the Ebook stores to become a best seller. Well, one can dream, can't one? Go to any library and look at the shelves of books on display. There is something for everybody. We have a new public library in Sun City, a branch from the Riverside Public Library system. It is  beautiful, with lots of books, videos, and easy couches for readers, and row after row of computers for public use. They will even furnish you a set of headphones. I love libraries and I ofter go to do some research on new projects I am working on. I see many folks reading on their tablets or laptops, there is free WiFi at the library. As a sign of the times they now even have E-books on loan, free of charge. I know the trend is towards electronic books, and although Polynesian Dreams is now only available via E-book, I hope that libraries never disappear. Some scifi books predict that the print media, magazines, newspapers and books will eventually be a thing of the past, I hope not. I like the feel of a book in my hands. However, E-books is the future, specially for new authors. I have had so many rejections from literary agents and publishers that I cannot feel sorry for them if they become part of the past. I have had many articles and one book published and even received a $25.00 check from Play Boy one time for a joke I submitted. I also wrote for newspapers and once had a job as editor of a company paper. Enough, write me a comment so I know there is at least one soul who read my blog. I am enclosing a photo from long ago in a school room in my native Holland. Love, Johan. Reading expands the mind. Budding authors, visit www.wavecloud.com, they were great in getting my book in the e-book stores.

Thursday, May 15, 2014

As the adage goes, "If at first you don't succeed, try and try again". This is my attitude when it comes to promoting my book, Polynesian Dreams, it has been almost two weeks and although I have had some sales, it is not ala Bill O'Reilly who pumps our best seller after best seller.
Perhaps I should have named the book, "The Killing of Aloha", kidding, of course. However I do want folks to read my book because it is not only inspirational but filled with adventures, life in Holland during WWII, romance, and could perhaps cause a few persons to examine their life, look back where they veered off their chosen path and trace the steps of their life back to that moment, this time going in the right direction. It is ambitious, I know but I believe it is possible because I have done it. All apart from this inspirational aspect, the books takes you all over the world and I have been told by readers that they could not put it down. The book is now on all the E-book sellers thanks to the good work of the folks at WaveCloud, specially my contact person, Justin, who has been invaluable. Go to Kindle, Nook, Kobo, WaveCloud Ebook, Googel Book and read a few sample chapters for free, if you get turned on, buy the book. My portion of the net proceeds go to The Animal Friends of the Valley, where we adopted our lovely girl feline
and to The Wounded Warrior Project, no need to explain those good folks to you. Happy reading, and feed back is so much appreciated. I know it is almost like begging, but I would love to hear from you, good or bad. Johan

A Writer's tale with happy ending:

Let go back to BC (before computers). You are an AUTHOR and have written a great novel titled: "The Devil made me do it". You carefully and neatly type the final manuscript and look up the agents and publishers in your Writer's Digest. You wrapped a red ribbon around the 300 pages, write a short synopsis and cover letter, include a SASE and with hope in your heart put it in the mail.

Six  months later and the manuscript is returned with a nice rejection letter. "Your story was well written but unfortunately at this time it does not meet our requirements. Thank you for submitting it and please write us again."

Now off to the next possible publisher. Same result. Tried a vanity publisher, too much money and no guaranty. Put the potential best seller on the shelf with the others.

Now we have entered the computer age, Border Books closes its stores due to Amazon Kindle, Barnes&Noble, Nook, WaveCloud, Kobo, Ebooks, Google Book and more. You dust off your manuscript and send it to a company to be converted into E-book format, be it mobi for Kindle or Epub for the other Ebook sellers, you also opt for the company offer of putting your precious labor of love in all the Ebook sellers stores. Voila, now you do not only have a domestic audience, the entire world is now able to enjoy your fantastic writing skills.

This is what I did with Polynesian Dreams by Johan Van Oldenbarneveld.  Your task is not finished however, you still have to promote your book, via facebook, twitter and all social media. You must also contact writer's clubs, do as I, print business cards and hand them out at Internet cafe's, thumbtack them on bulletin boards, give readings at senior centers, and use your imagination to think of more places to tell them about your masterpiece. I shopped around for a company that could handle my book and found it in WaveCloud, they offered the least expensive price and did the whole job within 14 days, with great communication of a Justin, my contact person. I am thrilled and now am busy promoting my epic. Hope this assists some budding author. Email if it helped you. Johan, pokerbydutch@verizon.net or visit my web site, www.polynesiandreams.com or go to Kindle or any other site and read a few sample chapters, better yet, buy my $8.50 book. I am donation my share to my favorite charity, Animal Friends of the Valley, Aloha, Johan

Saturday, May 10, 2014

Now that my book, Polynesian Dreams, is available on all e-book sellers, Kindle, Nook, Google Books, WaveCloud, E-books and more, I was thinking about my history with computers.
My love affair with computers began in the early seventies. I do not know if it was love at first sight but I know I wanted to own one. I almost bought a Heath Kit but I am not handy with a soldering iron. One night in Reno, at a lunch counter I bought a 60cent Keno ticket and wonder over wonder, I won $1050.00. My wife told me that she was tired of listening to me telling her how much I wanted a computer but could not reconcile to spend over a thousand dollar for one. Now that I had this windfall she told me to go out and get one of those dumb machines. I ended up buyin a TRS-80. Friends asked what I was going to do with this "calculator'. It had very few programs that came on a ordinary audio tape and you played it on a player/recorder but it had one important feature built in, the BASIC (beginners all purpose instruction code) I quickly learned it and began to write simple programs. Little did anyone know that in 2014 computers have become so common place that almost everyone has one. Anyway, I did not know it in 1978 but I made a lot of money with my computers. Floppy 5 1/4 floppy discs came out and later also Windows, replacing CPM operating system.. I upgraded constantly, I even became a KayPro dealer. I am probably on my 20th computer, not to mention my Destop, Laptop and smart phone. I designed tons of web sites for good money and have now listed my book on the E-sellers sites, greatly helped by WaveCloud, a new company that is terrific. Now budding authors will have a fighting chance to sell their creations, before e-books a virtual impossibility. Look for Polynesian Dreams in the e-book store, read a few sample chapters and if you like what you read, buy the $8.50. I am donating my share to charity, An animal shelter and to the Wounded Warrior project. It is an inspirational story with lots of adventure and romance. It is autobiographical and you can learn from my mistakes. Happy reading, Johan Van Oldenbarneveld

Hurrah, I made it to 84. I now have lived 83 years on this ball of earth that is spinning in the Universe, one of billions. Thank you one and all for all the birthday good wishes. Up esrly this morning working on my book promotion. Tonight I am the guest speaker ar March Air Force Base Museum. If you live near, come to listen to me. 7:00-9:00 pm, free admission. Topic: world war II in The Netherlands, I had just turned 10 when the war in Holland began. On May 14 the city of Rotterdam was destroyed. In addition to my narration I have video clips of the USAF food dorps, the V1 launchings,a memorial flight in 2007 by a RAF Lancaster, the bomb attack on our apartment, the liberation and I briefly talk about my service in the Royal Dutch Navy, my world travels in the Merchant Navy and finally my 2 years in the US Army in Germany. Hopefully an interesting evening.

I grew up in The Netherlands and I will always remember a plaque on our hallway wall. It was put there by my Oma and in Dutch it read: "Beter de Wereld, Begin Bij Jezelf."
Many years after leaving The Netherlands, I hope I wrote this correctly in my Mother language.
Translation: "If you want to better the World, Begin with yourself." Is this not a wonderful adage?
Unfortunately, for the first 35 years of my life, I did not heed this sound advise. I made a royal mess of it. Each time I came to a fork in the road, I managed to take the wrong one. It lead to one disaster after another. Only when at one point I could not sink lower, I remember not only the above saying but many others that had gone in one ear and out another. Including one of the most important one, that little voice that is in each of us and tells us very early in our lives, right from wrong.
I have written a book about my adventures and my life and it has become somewhat of an inspiration for those whose life is also upside down, and a page-turner for everybody who has read, Polynesian Dreams. It has  sold out in paper but because of the great efforts by a new company, WaveCloud it is now available in most E-book stores. Kindle, Nook, Kobo, WaveCloud, Google Books, Ebooks and more. The price of this 351 page book that is filled with adventures, romance, inspiration is $8.50 with my net portion going to charity, The Animal Friends of The Valley and The Wounded Warrior Project. Try it, you like it, at least I hope so. Johan Van Oldenbarneveld.

Some women will vigorously disagree but writing a book and then finally getting it published in my mind might be somewhat like giving birth to a baby. You first get the idea you want one, baby or book that is, next you begin with creating one, book or baby that is, then finally you are done, the 9 months in baby's case are up, with a book it could be nine years, and your creating pops out of the womb. In case of a book, it pops out of your word processor. Now you got to nurture your baby, or book, and watch it grow up. In the case of a book you got to bring it to market. Actually this is the hardest part. Forget about the traditional way by sending the manuscript to an agent, vanity press will charge you an arm and a leg but now, thank Heaven, the internet offers you an other option. E-book publishing is the way to go for any budding author. Polynesian Dreams was first printed in book form by way of the Flash Book, Espresso Machine at the Riverside County, California, public library system, cost for a 350 plus page book, $10.00. I had 50 plus printed and sold them for $14.95 via my web site and personal contacts. I gave some away and although I promised my net proceeds to go to a charity, there was never any net proceeds, in fact I probably lost a few bucks. No problem with that however I wanted to have many people read my inspiration and filled with adventure book so I hunted for a company that could put my book in ebook format and found WaveCloud, a fairly new company that handled not only the conversion in mobi and epub format but also published it in all the e-book sellers online stores. Long blog but I am stoked by the results, you can now buy for $8.50 Polynesian Dreams in Kindle, Nook, Kobo, WaveCloud, Google books and more stores. Again my net proceeds going to Animal Friends of the Valley and The Wounded Warrior Project. Johan with much Aloha

Finally, finally:
This has been a long journey, close to ten years but now it has happened. Polynesian Dreams, my book is now available on most e-book sellers sites, Kindle, Nook, Kobo, Wavecloud, ebooks, and soon on Apple Itunes. I am excited and since my situation finacially is secure, I am donating my net proceeds to The Animal Friends of the Valley, near my home in Murrieta and to that worthy The Wounded Warrior Project. First of all, people have wrote me that this is a page turner, but more important, if your life happen to be upside down, read how this once was the case in my life and how I fought my life back to Health, Happiness and Prosperity. Is this about religion, No, No, it is about how to get in touch with that inner voice. We all have one, you know, but we do not always listen to it. I have at least 5 or 6 years of labor into it, labor of love, sometimes, yes, I just had to write it to show how you can get rid of your addiction, alcohol, drugs, sex or whatever addiction is dragging you down. If you cannot afford the $8.50, write me, tell me about what is keeping you from experiencing the fullness of life you are entitled to and I might send you a free download. However, if you can afford a computer you certainly can afford the small sum that might turn your life around. I am nobody special, I am now certainly in the twilight of my life but before I go to whatever dimension there is, I like to help others that might be in the same soup I found myself in. I will blog as often as I can, sure I want you to read my book, but more important I want you to find your beautiful self. Is this possible? You bet you. When you have read my book, tell me if it helped you, if your life doesn't need help, tell me if you enjoyed reading the 351 paged.
follow me on facebook, make me your friend. Thanks friends and future friends. Johan
