Aloha again from this former resident of our beautiful state of Hawaii, Johan Van Oldenbarneveld.
Today I like to blog about the digital age we have entered. I am of the belief that we have just scratched the surface of what life in the digital age is going to be like in the future.
I am writing about it because one of my book has just been published on all the Electronic Book Sites, Kindle, Nook, Kobo, WaveCloud, Google Books, and others lesser known. Is this a good thing? Yes, it is but it also might have unexpected consequences. Do we really want everything we read in digital form? I leave that unanswered, this generation will still love to hold a book in their hand, but what about the future generations. Will they feel the same? I certainly do not know the answer. The Holy Bible can now be read on your tablet in any version you prefer.  Classics are added every day, the public library in my small city now has an option to read books in their data base electronically.
I do know one thing, for many aspiring authors who never had much of a chance to see their epic novel, biography or do it yourself book in print, E books are the future and a gift from the computer age.
My book, Polynesian Dreams had a modest success in printed form but when people in my native country of The Netherlands ordered a copy, the postage made this expensive. My E-book version can be read anywhere in the whole world. Fantastic and it is so easy, on a long trip, grab your I-pad, your Kindle or Nook, your laptop and start reading. Font too small, no problem, a stroke of a a key and take your pick, like sepia colored background, click, at night you want black background, white font, click again. Wherever you are a extensive library is at your beck and call. I hope, of course, that you include my book in your choice. As a tip to budding authors, getting your book on the exchanges is much simpler than you think. You be able to find many companies to convert your book in an E-book format, be it mobi or epub, and they will also put it on the many exchanges. I shopped around and recommend: www.wavecloud.com they did all that was needed quickly, inexpensively and their hand holding was awesome. I am using too many words again but I am so enthusiastic about this business of E-publishing and selling my book. Enjoy my blog, I hope. Johan
