Aloha from Southern California:
In my book, Polynesian Dreams, are parts that deal with reincarnation. Do I believe in reincarnation? My answer is that I keep an open mind. I do know there are more people in the world that believe in reincarnation then there are who do not believe. Buddhist, for instance, certainly believe in reincarnation. Now back to this blog. I receive very few comments and it is disheartening but I am a firm believer that if at first you don't succeed you must try and try again. There are a myriad of stories about writers, (Margaret Mitchell for one, before Gone with the Wind) who have a piles of rejection slips. I am attaching a photo from 57 years ago. I am posed reading "Writer" magazine. This is to show that even 57 years ago I was an aspiring word-put-together young man. Actually, I started writing when I was not even a teenager. I had a modicum of success, not in fiction but in magazine and newspapers. In the army, while stationed in Europe, I wrote travel in Europe pieces for the Stars and Stripes. I had articles accepted in glossy magazines such as CAMERA and once in PlayBoy. I had one book published, not fiction but titled, How to Play Texas Hold'em on the Internet and Win. Polynesian Dreams is considered an autobiography. I am now writing my first SciFi book, working title, 2099. It tries to describe the future, mostly about Robotic and Computer use as it might be in 2099. I also try to envision the world political situation as it might be in 2099. Writing about the future has been done often and even famous writers such as Jules Verne and H.G. Wells, often miscalculated the events by many years. Anyway, I always try to include a plug for the folks at WaveCloud.com who transformed my Polynesian Manuscript from Word or PDF format in Mobi and Epub and who put it on all exchanges. Go to any E-bookstore, such as Kindle, Nook, WaveCoud, Google Book and others and read a few sample chapters. Like it, buy it, do not like it, buy it anyway, just to help the charities. Do not have $8.50, email me and I send it to you for free. You find my email address at www.polynesiandreams.com
Good luck, writers, book lovers everywhere. Thank you Justin and Emily for your work on my book.
Check out the rotary phone. Johan Van Oldenbarneveld
