Hi, Blog readers:
Another day, another dollar is the old adage, in my case it is another day, another blog entry. Almost every day I am trying to motivate folks to order my book, Polynesian Dreams from Amazon.com Kindle, Barnes&Noble Nook, WaveCloud.com, Ebooks, Google Book and others. Writing a book is easy for some, hard for others. I have written several but my biography, Polynesian Dreams was difficult and took over 5 years. I find selling the book even more difficult. I am a daily contributor on a FaceBook page, titled, Je bent een echte Rotterdammer als: tranlated this means: You are a real person from Rotterdam if you were born in that city; as I was on May 8, 1930. I have lived in the US for 64 years and my Dutch is rusty, to put it mildly. Everyday I translate a few sample paragraphs of my book and publish it on this Holland FaceBook page. The response has been more than positive, people are encouraging to write more. Does this mean my book is a best seller in Holland? No, because it is written in English and although I have made a number of sales in The Netherlands, ordinarily the Dutch people do not buy books in another language.
The folks at WaveCloud.com who did the format in kobi and epub have been more than helpful. Next week there is another seminar on how to launch your book. My contact person also suggested that I change the cover and I in the process of doing just that. Below is the sample of the proposed new cover.
I emphasize in each blog that I am donating my portion of the sales to my charities, Animal Shelter and Wounded Warrior. So far, there have not been enough sales to make this a reality. Please read a few sample chapters on the E-book sellers sites. Thank you in advance for doing so.
Johan Van Oldenbarneveld, writer, publisher of Polynesian Dreams.
