Aloha to all my blog readers:
I have touched on this subject before, namely the
title of my book and for that matter all books.
A title such as "Murder on the Orient
Express", leaves little to the imagination. Jack London's biography,
"Sailor on Horseback", ditto.
My 351 page book, "Polynesian Dreams",
really does not tell you much. Dreams about Polynesia? I also have a web site,
http://www.polynesiandreams.com, again the question: what is this about?
I am presently working on another web side, using
WordPress with the name, "My Life Changing Story", this actually
reflect what Polynesian Dreams is all about.
My book was written when we lived in Hawaii and does have to do with
dreams, in an abstract way but it is more about the life changing story of my
life.
I was born in 1930 in Rotterdam, the large port city
of The Netherlands. I served as a young man in the Royal Dutch Navy, the Dutch
Merchant Navy and immigrated to the United State in November 1950. In 1951 I
was drafted in the US Army during the Korean war but served 2 years in
Bremerhaven, Germany and attended the Military Police Academy in Oberammergau.
When I returned to civilian life in California I briefly attended college but
then descended in a life of addiction to alcohol, drugs and general bad
behavior. Polynesian Dreams is the story of that life, Adventure, Travel,
Romance (yes a bit of sex), a dash of Eastern Religions and other interesting
tidbits. The book sold out in paperback but is now on all the major electronic
booksellers inventory for $3.79. I am
almost 85 and have enough dollars to last me the remaining years so I am
donating my net receipts to The Wounded Warrior Project and an animal adoption
agency in my area. Thank you for reading my blog. Johan Van Oldenbarneveld.
