Hello Blog Readers:

This blog is primarily written to promote my latest book, Polynesian Dreams,
by Johan Van Oldenbarneveld. Those who read my blog regularly know all about it but for newcomers I here is a brief synopsis. The book is written in a whimsical style and could be classified as an autobiography but it is much more. There are 351 pages and chronicle my life from growing up in war time Holland, my service in the Dutch Navy, Dutch Merchant Marines and coming to America and serving in the American Army during the Korean war period.
It follows the writer through his struggles with addictions, alcohol, amphetamines, gambling and yes, a sex addiction. However after financial ruin, physical and moral bankruptcy, the writer finds his true inner voice and after ignoring it for almost forty years starts to pay attention. The result is nothing but miraculous. Great financial abundance, robust health, happiness and true love become a reality.
The book has appeared in hard cover, now sold out, and is currently available on all the e-book exchanges such as Kindle, Nook, Kobo, E-books, Googlebooks, and more. It sells for $3.79 with my proceeds going to an Animal rescue and shelter in my area.
My difficulty is how to make the book stand out from the more than 2 million others available to read on your tablet, Ipad, smart phone or laptop. I believe in perseverance, I will not stop trying and my hope is that one day the book will fall into the hands of someone who not only enjoys reading it but is in a position to make it available to many. Success seldom comes overnight. Read stories about other writers, artists, actors and you find early struggles and disappointments. My book is a latecomer, I am now 85 but how can you write about your life until you have lived it? In my heart I know that the day of Polynesian Dreams will come true in my lifetime. You can help me by plunking down $3.79 and not only helping my dream become a reality but your contribution will help to find a happy home for some unfortunate feline or canine, found wandering in the streets. The book will not disappoint and is a genuine page turner according to the folks who read it and wrote me. It has controversial subjects in it and you are encouraged to keep an open mind. Thanks again and again for reading this and perhaps tell your friends about me. Johan Van Oldenbarneveld, Menifee, California
