Hi Blog and FaceBook followers:
The Debate:
I worked each Saturday for 15 years at the Golden Gate
Fields Turf Club, a race track in Albany, California.
This debate reminded me of that time. I watched as the
horses were examined in the paddock and then trotted out on the track were they
prance around before being herded in the starting gate. Then the trumpet would
sound and finally the words, They are off. This happened last night, the ten
horses stood on the stage in their Sunday's best and were examined by the TV
viewers and the audience. The then head inquisitor, Bret Bear uttered the
words, They are off and the race was on. It was a much anticipated but
predictable spectacle. Who came in first, who second and who show. I had my
money on Trump and I lost. First I believe was a tie between Rubio and Kasick,
Second was also a tie between Walker, Huckabee, Cruz, Perry and show was Bush!.
Also in the pack were Carson, Christie and making up the rear was the favorite,
Trump. I did not like some of the questions that were clearly designed to rile
Trump. Do not worry, Trumpies, he is in it to say. Some even had him come in
first, but I had to throw my ticket in the waste basket. Kelly, who I liked,
did not come off well, Chris was Chris, and Bret did not shine either. Who
cared that my father was a mailman, or grandfather a coal miner. who cared
about the budget figures in Wisconsin or Ohio or Texas. We want to know who is going
to beat Hildabeast or the village idiot, Biden. This is what is going to be the
question, to beat or not to beat. One clear winner, Carly Fiorina, she would
make a great VP or president. Can you imagine her debating Ms. Rodham. I liked
Dr. Carson.
In all it was a bit like the super bowl, you look
forward to it and when the big day comes it is a bit of a letdown. That's just
one old 85 years old man's opinion.
